IELTS Speaking practice that does not fake a band score
Rehearse the interview, long turn and discussion with the real preparation and response structure. Recordings stay on this device unless you ask for optional AI feedback. The checklist follows the official four criteria, but only a trained examiner can award an IELTS band.
Free AI feedback on your answer — how it works
- Record your answer with the real preparation and response timing. The recording stays in your browser until you ask for feedback.
- Pronunciation & fluency (optional): press the feedback button and that one recording is analysed by Microsoft Azure speech assessment. You get overall, accuracy and fluency scores plus your words highlighted where they were unclear, missed or broken by a pause. TestDayTwin does not keep the audio.
- Content (optional, after step 2): only the text transcript — never the recording — is sent to Google Gemini. Coherence, Lexical Resource and Grammatical Range & Accuracy are rated as IELTS bands, with an unofficial band estimate, up to three strengths, up to three fixes for your next attempt, and usually one of your sentences rewritten the way a stronger speaker would say it.
Up to 5 feedback checks per day, on practice drills only (never inside a timed mock). The ratings are practice estimates, not official scores — use them to decide what to fix on your next recording.
Home and neighbourhood: short questions
Practice boundary: The real IELTS examiner asks and follows up one question at a time. This combined recorder rehearses the same response style without pretending to reproduce examiner interaction.
Respond to the task above. Your recording remains on this device.
Private: your recording stays in this browser unless you ask for pronunciation feedback, which sends that one recording to Microsoft Azure for analysis (TestDayTwin doesn't keep it). If you then ask for feedback on what you said, only the text transcript — never the recording — goes to Google Gemini.
This is a reflection checklist, not a predicted official score.
Compare after recording
- Answer each question in two or three natural sentences.
- Give a reason or small example instead of stopping after yes/no.
- Treat the timer as combined practice; the real examiner asks these one at a time.
