Read the passage and answer the question.

Many languages around the world are spoken by only a handful of elderly people, and linguists warn that these tongues may vanish within a generation. When a language disappears, it takes with it more than vocabulary: unique ways of describing the natural world, traditional knowledge, and oral histories can all be lost. Some communities have responded by recording their elders, creating dictionaries, and teaching the language to children in schools. These efforts do not always succeed, but where young speakers begin using the language in daily life, a once-endangered tongue can slowly regain its footing.

According to the passage, what condition helps an endangered language recover?
